The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) is leading the Libya Bid Round on behalf of the government, offering prime onshore and offshore acreages within the country's prolific hydrocarbon basins. Strategically positioned at the crossroads of Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe, Libya serves as a key energy hub in the Mediterranean, attracting international investors seeking high-potential exploration and development opportunities. The bid round includes 22 promising exploration areas, covering major oil and gas basins that have already demonstrated strong petroleum system potential.
The offering consists of 11 onshore blocks in Ghadames, Murzuq, and Sirte Basins, known for their abundant reserves, and 11 offshore blocks in Sirte Offshore, Sabratha Basin, and the Offshore Cyrenaica, which hold vast untapped resources. These strategically located acreages benefit from proximity to existing infrastructure, enabling cost-effective exploration, streamlined development, and efficient hydrocarbon production for global markets
